I don’t love doing interviews. I get nervous and awkward. I am an introvert. I am often, way too honest (Sagittarius problems). I turn them down most of the time, but I was open to chatting with of because I’ve loved so many of her previous interviews with writers I admire like and to name a few. I was quite frankly humbled that she wanted to chat with me about the evolution of my career.
In some ways it was an exercise in real time reflection. A lot of thinking out loud. I had no idea what or how I was going to answer her questions, but I am so glad we had the chance to talk. Meredith caught me at a time when I had come to the “f$ck it I have nothing to lose” point of my career transition. You can listen to the episode here. We covered a lot, including:
Grappling with the desire for privacy and to be present - while also wanting to write, share, and create community
Moving away from the traditional “influencer” business model
My relationship with consumerism and why a year of buying nothing felt necessary for me
Thank you !
