The view from taking the less convenient way this weekend.
It’s officially “don’t leave the house unless you absolutely have to season,” also known as peak foliage in Vermont. Thankfully it’s only a few weeks that our little village is packed to the gills with people hoping to get their perfect photo op with a leaf, but it is an exercise in patience and humility.
That’s also part of the beauty of this season though. A reminder that the easiest route isn’t always the best. Sometimes, the less convenient way leads us to a perspective we never would have found if we’d taken the shortcut.
