Craig and I went up to the Northeast Kingdom for a few nights this week. It was the first time we were able to get away just the two of us, as every other trip we’ve planned was either cancelled or cut short because of natural disasters or illnesses. Needless to say, it was LONG overdue. It rained almost the entire time, but the last morning, as we sat in fog at our Airbnb, we decided to drive up to Lake Willoughby. Maybe it would be sunny? Maybe not. As we got closer, the sky started to turn blue, and I could feel the heat of the sun through the windshield. Lucky for us, just 7.5 miles north of our Airbnb, it was absolutely gorgeous, and we set out on a hike, where we were treated to this view.

Despite all the rain we still had a lot of fun, exploring the mountain bike trails, driving country roads, and going to restaurants that didn’t have anything on the menu for kids (lol). I brought my computer with the intention of working (to send out this newsletter on Thursday) until I decided, I didn’t need to do that. When you have the first two nights away in four years, you just enjoy it. I didn’t realize just how badly I/we needed time away sans child. Probably should do that a little more often.

As we head into fall, I’d love to know when you’d like to receive Click. Read. Love. Feel free to weigh in below. I tend to receive a lot of newsletters on Fridays, so decided on Thursday for CRL, but maybe Sunday is better? Curious what you think!

There are seriously too many great quotes from this article, a must read… “The story that spending equals empowerment works well for those who profit from you buying more.
