This week we’re going to discuss creating boundaries with tech because it lays the groundwork for practically everything else we’ll explore in this series. In many ways, the themes we covered in the first two weeks: digital decluttering and analogue organizing, are the stepping stones to creating real change for how you interact with tech in everyday life.

Before we get into how to set boundaries with tech, let’s clarify why we want to set boundaries. Here’s a few questions to ask yourself:
What do I want more of?
better focus and attention, being present, joy, time to play
What do I want less of?
mindless-scrolling, using phone as a crutch, anxiety, brain fog, stress, distractions
What do I want to create space for?
creativity, hobbies, quality time with family/friends, time in nature, reading, connecting with people
The answers to these questions will look different for everyone. Start from a place rooted in what you’re working towards.
